HOLIDAY PHOTOS!

So, the holidays are almost over and it's been a LONG time since we've blogged about anything. Lots of new pictures to go through, we hope you enjoy them.

Abby playing the piano on Christmas Eve. I think there's a picture of me (julie) when I'm about this age doing the same thing.

Perfect form!

Abby and Mommy getting ready to open presents. Abby LOVES opening presents. It's a good thing she's the youngest because there's no way she has the patience to wait for others to open their gifts.

Airplanes with Daddy!

More "cheese" with Duke. He looks tired.

Christmas Morning pajama time.

This never gets old, Abby wearing mommy's shoes.

Abby didn't understand the concept of getting ready to go play in the snow because she's never done it before. She did NOT want to put her snow clothes on. But, all said and done, she had fun sledding in our court yard. (see video below)

Abby has also been singing quite a bit, this video is of her helping mommy sing "Twinkle Twinkle little Star." She helps with lots of different songs. The reason she's rolling around on the floor is cuz it's right before bed and she's tired.

A bit of a rough month

So within the past month Abby has had a chest cold, pink eye, a stomach bug and now a pretty wicked cold. She has been such a trooper through all of it and seems to be on her way to being her normal crazy self. I believe I have said this before but there is nothing worse than a sick child, all parent's out there will know what I am talking about. But through all the gross diapers and what seems like several hundred boxes of tissues we have come out in one piece yet again and ready to tackle whatever our Abby has to throw at us.

Starting to carry her own weight, she is washing one of her sippy cups.

Abby loves the tree and loves the lights the most.
That is a pony tail going straight up!
She's electric.

A few pictures

Here's a few pictures from the past month. Sorry it's been a while since we've posted any pictures.

Abby LOVES fettuccini alfredo. Yummy!
Abby and Mommy looking at the fish at the MN Zoo. I remember going here with my grandparents all the time.

We watched the fish for a good 20-30 minutes.

Looking at the animals.

Another Mile Stone

I realize we haven't been keeping up with Abby's blog recently so I thought I'd post a little something inbetween patients while I'm at clinic.

Last night Jason and I went out for a function at my school and Auntie Katie was watching Abby for the evening. The instructions were pretty typical, 'she's already eaten, play with her, give her a bath if possible, put her to bed.'

Well, I was so bummed because when we got home, Katie said Abby did just fine except for one thing. SHE POOPED IN THE TUB!!! MAN!!! I can't believe I missed it. It wasn't diarrhea, I guess they were pretty hard ... I chuckle to myself out loud when I think about Katie holding Abby over the tub while trying to control the situation. I'm seriously bummed that I missed it though. I always assumed she'd poop in the tub at one time and I secretly wanted to be amongst it all when it happened. Oh well. Katie did a fantastic job and handled it well. THANKS KATIE!!!

Reading with Daddy. Yes, she does have a Sweet Martha's Cookie bucket on her head.

Halloween wouldn't be complete without Mom and Dad dressing as Ernie and Bert from Sesame Street!

Nice Uni-brow Bert!

This is a video of Abby walking outside to our car. The video is titled, "Fallen Angel." You'll see why.

I also wanted to thank my mom for helping with the costume. I wish I could take credit for the whole thing but my mom, being the talented seamstress that she is, sewed the little dress with the feathers. For years, she used to make my brother and I costumes and they were always perfect. Now continuing the tradition, it was perfect. THANKS MOM, YOU'RE THE BEST!!!

Halloween pictures! Super Cute Angel. She reminds me of precious moments dolls. We went to my school where they had a bunch of fun activities for the kids. Nothing Abby was able to do but she sure liked to watch the other kids run around.

We got a sicky on our hands.

For the past 2 days our Abby girl has been under the weather. She has a cough and a fever and just not herself. Julie had to pick her up from daycare around noon on Tuesday and she didn't go to daycare today. We have our fingers crossed that she will be able to go tomorrow, she didn't have a fever when she went to bed and tonight she was acting more like our normal crazy kid. As Julie posted on mamabeal earlier this week there is nothing worse then a sick kid. As a parent you feel helpless, especially when you take the kid to the doctor and they have no good advice other than "give her Tylenol." Plus when a kid is sick, they don't sleep well which means you don't sleep well and everyone is crabby in the morning. Luckily Abby seems to be feeling better which will mean more sleep and most important and happy healthy 15 month old running around our house again.

Gotta love that hat.
She loves buckets.

Fun New Pictures!

Here's some new pictures we've taken within the last few weeks. Abby is officially 15 months old now. Within the last few weeks she's become quite a hand full. I think she gets that from me (Julie). :)

Growing up!

We haven't updated the blog for a while so I figured I would do that today while I'm have the day off.

Abby is 15 months now and she's turned some new leaves. First of all, she's mimicking everythig we say. Not everything really sounds like words but if you listen closely and use your imagination, you can tell that she's trying to say just about everything.

Along with her mimicking, she is also learning different animal noises such as a horsey, pig, cow, sheep, snake, tiger and several more. It's fun to see her point to animals and associate them with the noise they make.

She has also taken up some art's and crafts activities. We recently bought her a little essel for her to use her color crayons on. She is slowly learning the colors and she seems to like purple the best.

Here is a little story which you'd probably find on "Kid's say the Darnedest things."

Now, obviously Abby still needs to be monitored while she's coloring so, Jason and I get in on the activites of coloring with her. Well, we were all sitting at the table and the crayons were strewn around Abby and Jason wanted to use the red crayon sitting right next to Abby.

Jason said, "I'm gonna snake this red from you ..."
Without skipping a beat, Abby said, "sssssssss!" With a big smile.

Kids say the Darndest things! How cute. We laughed hysterically.

We don't have many new pictures but we'll upload some more later.

Abby with a Sweet Martha's Cookie Bucket on her head. Sorry thsese are both kind of grainy.

I've been Tagged! I'm IT!!!

YEAH! I've been tagged. I'm "it"! So, I'm not 100% sure how this works but I think I have been designated to write 6 random things about myself and then tag 6 other people to write random things about themselves ...

Here goes!

#1 I have memorized at least 3 baby books and can recite any letter from the alphabet book "Dr. Seuss's ABC's."

#2 I snore REALLY loudly. I always deny it but in all honesty, there's been several times when I've been snoring so loudly I even have woken myself up. (my poor husband :) )

#3 My child is a Biter. It's true, she bites Jason about 1x per week.

#4 When I go for runs, I always run on the trail through the woods because it terrifies me. It sounds crazy but when you think you're going to be abducted, it's quite the motivator to keep running!

#5 The last time we vacuumed the house was ... I can' t remember.

#6 I rarely pick up Duke's (our dog's) poop down in the weeds but when I do, I ALWAYS have an inclination to throw it at one of our neighbor's windows.

OOOOH, that was FUN! Too bad we don't know very many bloggers that haven't been tagged. But, I will tag my Cousin Barbara!

Mama Beal

For those of you who are curious and like to read other peoples blogs, I have started my own blog at mamabeal.blogspot.com. I encourage all to check it out.

Thanks
Julie

We've come to an age in Abby's life where she's learning many new things that, as adults, we may take for granted. Recently Abby has been experimenting with the idea of using a fork and spoon for her food. She definately hasn't mastered it but she sure thinks it's fun. She has also learned to put her sunglasses on by herself and she's a natural Stevie Wonder. She has also learned how to play properly with Leon instead of just laying on top of him. Here's a few pictures of our little goof-ball from the last few weeks.

Abby playing with Duke

Abby also learned how to put her jacket on. She understands the concept of zipping it up but she gets frustrated because she can't do it yet.

Stevie Wonder playing the drums.

I wonder if Stevie Wonder had Dora the Explorer sunglasses

Abby likes to try to walk Duke in the house.

Abby using a spoon for yogart. I think she has just a little bit on her face. :)

So, as promised, here are some updated pictures of Abby. She's officially 14 months old now and still growing like a weed. Everytime friends come over, they all comment on how big she's getting even if it has only been a week since they saw her last.

Abby has not only been growing physically but she has also been growing intellectually. She is saying all sorts of words such as; her name, baby, kitty, puppy, more, Ta-Da, mama, dada, papa, peepee, poopoo, potty (the kids at daycare are potty training), and many other words. She's also learned to jump in place which kids aren't typically supposed to be able to do until they're 3 years old.

Daycare is starting to get easier but it's still a challenge taking here there every morning. I honestly think she has finally gotten into the routine of being at Susie's but it has now become a habbit for her to cling to us when we drop her off so we're trying to figure out how to break that habbit. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. :)

Here's some pictures from the last month.

Abby with Mommy's shoes on, that's another word she likes to say "SHOES!"

Abby under her chair

My cousin (Barbara) came into town with her husband and kids. Tyson is exactly 1 month younger than Abby and it was fun to see them together. As I thought, Abby really liked Emma (my cousin's oldest). I thought this was a good picture of the proud Grandpa Peterson's.

This is an adorable picture of my other cousin Elizabeth with Tyson.
